I don't think I've blogged a single RBL green since I had to revamp things. What's wrong with me?! Who am I? I LOVE greens!
Just like my girl Rach, I bought the GOMM collection piecemeal. At first, I didn't think it was for me, outside of Poppy. But then I fell in love with Jack(which I LOVE and wish I would have backed up) and Faraway. And then I decided I needed Ghost, which I picked up as part of my birthday haul. And a confession? I haven't worn it yet.
And then I developed a lemming for Abi and pulled the trigger. I am kicking myself for not ordering it sooner. It's hard to go wrong with a RBL green. And a pea/green apple shade? Try and beat that. Recycle won our hearts first and then came Orbis Non Sufficit. Some of us are ambivalent when it comes to No More War (not me though. I contemplated ordering like 5 bottles LOL). Okay, I'll stop waxing poetically about green.
Ji describes Abi as, "Clusters of brushed desert plants sway mesmerically with the wind. After a thunderous rain that cleanses off dust and sunburns, Abi captures the moment when that first sunbeam appears and flashes them with a warm kiss". I'm not exactly sure what that means but I just know I've fallen head over heels for this green. It's basically celery green with a delicate silver and green shimmer running through. It's Faraway's green sister!
I've been wearing it with with a lot of grey and black lately and it's that extra "something" to take an office outfit to the next level (when I'm not wearing plaid :D )
This is 3 coats with SV.
[my fingers are SO dry, I'm sorry!!]
Can I just say I think the QC on brushes in this collection must have been lax? Because the brush on this one was JANK. I think the only one I have that's not all wacky is Poppy. A lot of them seem to have a chunk missing on one side. *shrug*
Did GOMM speak to you? If so, what's your favourite from the collection?
P.S. Blue for Bryant Friday will be back this week!

Happy anniversary, baby.

LOL I love this! <3
DeleteI don't have any from this collection - the colors that really stood out would, unfortunately, look ghastly on my skintone. I don't have a ton of RBL's, but I always look forward to the release of a new collection. I really appreciate how much thought goes into them. With all the "indie" polishes out there now that are just glitter in a clear base... and then other glitter in a clear base... and then even more glitter in a slightly tinted clear base, I really appreciate Ji's devotion to beautiful colors and a formula that's actually worth $20/bottle. I bet if you wrote to her that your brushes were janky, she would send you new ones.
ReplyDeleteThere are a ton of collections coming out this year, I'm so excited! I really enjoy seeing her inspiration play out in the colours she releases.
DeleteI could but I don't want to bother her. They're not overly bad just not up to par of what I expect is all.
Happy anniversary!! Lovely and funny colour Abi: in the first pic it seems a mustard colour and in the rest it is pea coloured (at least my my old labtop) :)
ReplyDeleteThank you! Hahaha, yeah. I took bottle shots and swatches at different times (thus different light) but I saw that too.
