Essie Maximillian Strasse Her

My little sister is turning 13 on Saturday.

We're 9 1/2 years apart and I feel sufficiently old. She's obsessed with all things Turtles, Science and Harry Potter. But uhhh...what the heck do you buy? So I settled for my tried & true gift (which she also loves): polish.

As I was perusing the racks at Walgreens (because let's be real, Meijer has been sucking it up lately), I noticed that the smaller 4 part display of Madison Ave-hue was out! Avenue Maintain wasn't as bright as I'd wanted and Hip-anema wasn't in the display. Side note: I didn't get the name Hip-anema for a long time but realized yesterday that it's a play on Ipanema. Light bulb.

I ended up buying her a few Sinful's, Butler Please & a Maybelline on my excursion as well as pulling a few polishes from my discard pile. As I was checking out, the cashier (whom I went to school with...UGH) said, "whoa...this is a lot of nail polish". Look bro, don't need your judgment. Go eat a brotein (which is actually a typo but I love it so much I'm going to leave it) bar.

Onto the polish!

You know how much I love greens, so this one was an obvious choice for me. It's a gorgeous greyed sagey-blue that I have a feeling is exceptionally close to Pantone's Greyed Jade, one of their colours for Spring. It has Essie's famous creme formula (decidedly not a jelly-creme). This is 3 coats with SV.

After digging through my stash, I came up with only one other similar colour: Zoya Bevin.

Decidedly brighter and more green. Totally worth owning both =)

My spring break officially starts today...even though I'm at work. I have all of next week off from class (as I'm still working a few days) and I CAN'T. WAIT. Pajamas, tv and snuggling with Elizabeth Caty Stanton are the only things I'm interested in doing. Also, expect way more blog posts next week. I'll have more time than I know what to do with!

Haaaaaaappy Friday, friends.

    1. I really like it! It's not quite as minty as Absolutely Shore...and definitely more blue.

      LOL thank you =)
